Director, Sales and Distribution Services
As Director, Sales and Distribution Services, I am responsible for advising and working with clients’ distribution, sales, marketing and management consulting services to SRC’s clients. Drawing on my extensive business management experience in the U.S. and Swedish-American business environment, I provide guidance and advice relating to business management issues, distribution and sales network development, recruitment, interviewing of candidates for sales-related positions, and many other business-related functions.
Originally from Södertälje, Sweden, I have spent over 25 years of my professional career in the U.S. I moved to the U.S. in early 1992 to start the U.S. subsidiary ABA Group, a Swedish sealing and connector manufacturer. In my position as CEO, I built the company from a start-up to $11.4 million in sales. The company was later acquired by a venture-capital firm and grew to over $150 million in sales under the name Norma Group. In 2008, I left Norma Group to become Director of Sales and Marketing for R.G. Ray, a mid-sized U.S. company. After R.G. Ray was sold in 2010, I decided that it was time to chart a new course. I realized that I enjoyed building and expanding new and existing businesses and working with Swedish companies, and my focus became centered on helping these businesses get established in the U.S.
I have spent most of my career in industrial manufacturing for metal, plastic and packaging products. Since moving to the U.S., I served four years on the Board of Directors for a Swedish majority-owned plastic liner manufacturer with sales of more than $35 million in the U.S. I am on the Board of Directors for several companies that are majority-owned by Swedish companies, and I am helping to launch two Swedish-subsidiary companies in the Midwest.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Roosevelt University in Chicago, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from IHM Business School in Stockholm and have taken coursework at the University of Stockholm.
I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with my wife, Carrie and two daughters, Johanna and Julia. I play tennis year-round and golf when I get the chance. On the weekends, you will find me working around the house or spending time outdoors with Carrie and the girls.
Starting a new business in the U.S. is a marathon, not a sprint. After 20 years of doing business in the U.S., I have learned how to grow companies in up-and-down business cycles while planning for long-term growth. I look forward to helping your company succeed in this challenging, but rewarding, market.
