As President of SRC, my role is to direct the general management and to provide general strategic guidance. I also offer clients legal and business strategic consulting services. I am the visionary and founder of SRC, which essentially grew out of the law practice Law Offices A.E. Gustafsson, P.C., which I have run since 1993.
While working on the legal side with, among other things, setting up and serving Swedish-related companies doing business in the U.S., it very quickly became clear to me that continuous assistance and coordination on non-legal issues arising after the incorporation, such as banking, business insurance, benefits, payroll and accounting, among others, were in high demand. After initially assisting our clients with these post-incorporation services as part of the law practice, SRC was eventually established as its own independent entity in 2007.
Originally from Gothenburg, Sweden, I have lived in the U.S. for over 30 years and have spent most of my life with one foot in the U.S. and the other in Sweden. I first came to the U.S. as a child when my father transferred to the U.S. for an international assignment. Upon completing law school at Uppsala University, earning an LLM, I worked at a law firm in Västerås, Sweden, a district court and tax agency in Sweden for over two years, followed by a traineeship with a law firm in Chicago, before returning for good to Chicago in 1989 to work as an Associate Attorney with the same law firm where I had trained. I simultaneously earned a J.D. from Chicago Kent College of Law. I started my own practice, Law Offices A.E. Gustafsson, P.C. in January 1993, where I still serve as Principal Attorney. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jeff, and our two daughters, Hanna and Annika. I play competitive tennis and like to run, read and socialize with friends.
